80mm Galvanized Retaining Wall Posts 3mm Thick to suit "Hardwood Sleepers" or "Concrete Sleepers"
We produce Retaining Wall Posts.
These posts are spot welded and cold Galv treated they are 1180mm long. You might say a Concrete is better but they are very heavy wieghing in at near 90kg hard to work with if your on your own. Harwood Sleepers are easy. You can do it yourself. Using concrete sleepers you need a small truck and a forklift with usually an extra person. But both options are your choice and both look very nice.
The idea of our post is simple. Concrete or Hardwood Sleepers are dropped into the posts at 2400 long or any lenght you desire. Our posts are approx 80mm wide. Three are above ground level at 200mm wide each (if you want a 600mm wall) If set at a slight angle of 5 degrees you can retain as much dirt as you wish. The manufactured posts are cheaper than buying channel. Buying channel also does not give you LH or RH posts. All posts are the same price, we weld them together. There is a Centre strap also made of 3mm Galv that keeps the sleepers together, it is on another listing.
This method is cheaper than Concrete Sleepers produced by others. You can treat the (Recommended) Hardwood sleeper with old diesel oil. You can use treated pine sleepers if you wish but they will last in fact maybe two years depending on your location. The also twist and warp. We recommend half the post going into the concrete. Once your posts are in it's easy to complete the wall. As seen in the pictures.
It is recommended to stay below the local council requirements. We have tried larger sections as per pictures and have been successful but recommend no more than 800mm or four sleepers up. Please look at the pictures and understand the concept. Contact us if you have any interest with the amount of RH/LH and straight back to back posts you need. To finish the wall, we use one channel or weld it to a 75mm post. Email us with your requirements. If you're clever with an Arc Welder, you can make your own security fence as in the last 2 Pictures. Just bolt, screw some pool fencing on top of the hardwood sleepers. The post we sell were cut in half.
We can transport these anywhere for you but the cost depends on how many you need.
